Weight Loss Through SurgeryWeight Loss

Diet Article from DietPillsHut.com

In this modern and fast moving world, all are concerned about their financial security so basically everyone prefers to work hard. People forget that health is the main wealth and that no compromise should be made at the sake of good health. One fails to take care of one’s health and eating habits and thus becomes overweight. Obesity is a problem in itself. Always remember that weight loss is not only for improving appearance but also maintaining good health which is the most important part.

There are many ways to lose weight and losing weight through surgery is one of them. One should do research and find out a good surgeon who has already performed successful surgeries.

The methods that are used to treat people who are overweight are as below:

Gastric bypass
Gastric partitioning (this method is also named as stomach stapling)

These are basically used when the person has failed to lose weight using all conventional weight loss technique.

Gastric bypass:

In this surgery the width of whole stomach is stapled or stitched. In this type of surgery the bottom part of the stomach is closed and only a fraction of the upper portion of the stomach is kept open. The open portion is from where the person will receive food. Moreover, in the remaining pouch of stomach a small opening is made, a portion of small intestine is pulled up and attached to this minute opening. Due to this the fluids or food will now pass through the minute opening which is on the top of the stomach and will directly go to the attached small intestine.

Gastric partitioning

In this type of surgery use of stitches or staples are made to lock certain parts of the stomach. The difference is that stitches or staples are not placed across stomach as it is in gastric bypass. In this procedure a small opening is made through which the food passes into the lower portion of one’s stomach and ultimately to the small intestine.

Both these above mentioned surgeries reduce the size of the stomach as a result of it a small amount of food can only be stored. Certain precautions are necessary and are told by the surgeon.
